Deductible Protection
A 24-Hour, Accident and Sickness Hospital Indemnity Policy

As major medical costs continue to rise, people find themselves taking on higher deductibles to help keep their costs down. However, this leaves you financially exposed if you are hospitalized or have outpatient services. Deductible Protection gives you the peace of mind that you need by providing you with a lump sum of cash if you are admitted to the hospital for 24 hours. Plus, there are additional outpatient riders that can be added to meet your specific needs.

Deductible Protection Plan Features:

Pays a Lump Sum Benefit the FIRST time an insured is confined to a Hospital as a Resident bed patient during the Calendar Year due to a covered Injury or Sickness. Hospital Confinement is defined as being admitted to a hospital as a resident bed patient for 24 hours

Optional Riders:

SURGICAL - surgical rider for a maximum of 3 days 50% if out patient.
Pays the selected benefit amount per day for each day of a period of continuous hospital confinement during which one or more surgical procedures take place not to exceed 3 days per period of confinement. For surgical services rendered in an Ambulatory Surgical Center, pays 50% of the selected benefit for the day the surgery is preformed.

Emergency Accident

Pays the specified benefit for emergency care rendered within 72 hours of the injury by a physician in a hospital emergency room or physician’s office. Pays for up to four different covered Injuries (emergency treatments) in a calendar year per insured category (4 for employee, 4 for spouse and 4 for all children, not each child).

Outpatient Sickness

Pays the specified benefit for treatment in an out-of-hospital facility (including a physician’s office), due to a covered sickness. Pays one and one-half (1.5) times the benefit selected per sickness for treatment in a hospital emergency room. Pays for up to four different covered sicknesses (one treatment per illness) in a calendar year per insured category (4 for employee, 4 for spouse, and 4 for all children not each child).

Intensive Care Unit

Pays the daily benefit amount selected for each day of confinement for which there is a room and board charge by the hospital in a Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit for a covered injury or sickness. This benefit is payable for up to 31 days for any period of confinement.

We will pay the benefit amount indicated on the Policy Schedule when any covered person incurs charges for and has one of the following diagnostic procedures while this policy is in force. This benefit is payable for one procedure per calendar year per covered person. If you have one of the covered Diagnostic Procedures which would be payable under the Outpatient Surgical Procedure Benefit, we will only pay the Diagnostic Procedure Benefit. The procedure must be required due to a covered accident or covered sickness.
